Answer first

Every guide should answer the user’s immediate question near the top. Introductions do not exist to reach a word count, and useful information should not be buried behind ads, forms, or dramatic sales language.

Source standards

For rates, rebates, permits, government programs, tax incentives, and code-related claims, we prefer the responsible agency, utility, statute, or official program material. Each time-sensitive source record includes an organization, direct URL, verification date, and the claim it supports.

Pricing and project claims

We do not publish a project-cost range unless the inputs, geography, date, and scope definitions can be explained. We do not create fake projects, quotes, customer stories, ratings, or “typical” numbers to make a calculator look complete.

Technical review

The content model supports written-by and reviewed-by attribution. Reviewer fields remain hidden until a qualified reviewer has actually reviewed the page; credentials are never invented.

Corrections and updates

Material corrections should be made promptly and the verification date updated only when the underlying source has been checked. Time-sensitive pages should be re-verified on a schedule appropriate to how often the source changes.
